In my area we were not give the option to reserve GameCubes so the night before, we were a little slow I know, we called up our local Wal-Mart and asked them when they open. They simply replied "We are a 24 hour Walmart now until Christmas" I was like great we will get up extra early run down to Wal-Mart and pick ourselves up one of these little goodies. But then we realized we didn't know when they were going to be stacked. So we called back the already familiar Wal-Mart number again to discover that at 12 Midnight GameCube will be up for sale. So for the rest of the night we sat around and played N64 for a while (probably the last time it will get usage for a while I would imagine). After we finished our last game of capture the breifcase in The World Is Not Enough we headed down to walmart at 11:30. Once we got there we headed straight for the Electronics Department, we figured ohhhhh it is electronics so it should be in electronics. So we played the demo GameCube for a while and we picked up the last 2 GameCube memory cards. After playing a bit of each game we realize hmmm when are they going to stack the GameCubes. So we walked over into the next aisle over, hid our last 2 memory cards very very cleverly and then I walked over to the desk and I asked the lady there: "When are you going to be stacking the GameCubes?" "Game-what?" "GameCube" I responded. "Ohhhh, I'll take you over to the window, point it out to me and i'll get it out for you." "No Ma'am its not there, we were wondering when they were going to be put up for sale." Meanwhile that guy that just got off of his shift at electronics comes over and says "Oh yeah they are over in Layaway there is a HUGE line" My friend and I take off "briskly walking" over to Layaway hoping not to miss out. Once we get to where I thought Layaway was though we realize it is really hunting supplies and toys, not layaway. So we found a worker asked him where it was and we continued "briskly walking" over to layaway. Once we got there was a huge line and there were about 5 Jet Black Cubes left while there were a ton of purples. We now knew we were going to get one but now it was down to "Please dont run out of black ones." As the line got shorter and shorter more and more people went for the snazzy purple ones. There were two registers open and everytime a person got up to chose their color the lady would ask "Black or Blue" I was constently thinking if something happened and the GameCube's ran out i'll give you a black or blue. :) Anyways after waiting about another half an hour for the people infront of us to discover which of their charge cards worked we finally got our Jeet Black beauties (I paid in cash BTW). Now it was time to go BACK to electroincs. Once in electronics there was a huge line of people waiting to get games and people looking for non-exsistent memory cards. So me and my friend sneak back to the CD cases we hid ours behind and pull out the cards then walk back to where everyone was getting games. Once we walked by where everyone was looking for memory cards this lady asks me. "Were there more of those back there or DID YOU JUST STASH THEM BACK THERE" I was scared she was gonna eat me so I just told her that we stashed the cards and I quickly moved on to the games. The lady that was at the desk from the beginning of this adventure was now over here distributing games and checking people out. So when me my friend and another lady got to her she told us to hold on let me check out these people and I will get right over to help you get your games. 20 Minutes later we were still standing there. . . In that time a man we will refer to Mr. Clean as he looked exactly like him walked over to the electronics department. All he bought electronics wise was an GameCube accessory but he had a shopping cart full of other goodies from the rest of the store. So we waited and waited and waited for Mr. Clean to get his last minute shopping needs takin care of while we stood around waiting for him to discover which of his credit cards worked. Then finally game the moment when the lady came back and I got my Luigi's Mansion it was now time to begin playing!! (I did lose my cell phone in the course of this adventure but that is ANOTHER story). The moral of the story is GameCube is worth it, now go out, buy yours and enjoy!
