A Holiday Poem

On the twenty-second of December to the mountains we’ll go,

so tonight we gather for our affection to show.

Our family did huddle, under fireplace so warm,

To give out the presents dressed in paper un-torn.

Perfume for mother, and father with cigars,

Brother with airplanes and miniature cars.

Then I in the corner, with hope did but ask,

“Where is my gift, mum?” She’d saved it for last.

A small box it was, and the wrapping did shimmer-

covered in ribbons and pictures of winter.

I tore off the paper and to my surprise,

An indigo GameCube was seen in my eyes.

And more in the box, there was more that was neater:

Luigi’s Mansion, WaveRace, and Star Wars Rogue Leader.

With extra controllers and mem packs in hand,

I went to the tele and my was it grand.

In early mid-morning I went to my bed,

Still thinking of Luigi’s music in my head.

In the morning we left for the mountains to ski

Luckily I’m bringing the GameCube with me.

I so while I tumble down hills in the avalance fall,

Thank you Nintendo, and Happy Holidays to all!
