Mario Clash

INTRODUCTION:
The real Mario game that came out with the Virtual Boy on its release. Mario clash is almost an updated version of the game Mario Bros. from the aracade in a 3-D style, a style with which only Virtual Boy could pull off successfully.

FEATURES:

  • 1 Player
  • 3-D graphics
  • Over 40 levels
  • OVERALL GAMEPLAY:
In Mario Clash you are the infamous Mario and your goal is to clear all of the enemies out the differant floors of the tower. Controls are very very easy to master because they folow the same controls as other mario games and so it doesnt take long to get used to. This can be a very enjoyable game but as far as I know there is no end to the levels and they can get very repetitive. Also, though you get new and different enemy combinations every level a lot of them are killed the same way and so variety in that is not so good.

    GRAPHICS:
Graphics are nothing extrodinary for Virtual Boy but some parts like the bonus game put you in awe. What the Virtual Boy does though with its graphics giving the game depth makes the not so spectacular graphics in to fantastic graphics. For a Virtual Boy game this has some of the best graphics I have seen.

    SOUND:
The music in Mario Clash is some of the best music on a game I have ever heard. Not only does it have nice catchy tunes with a great beat it has many differant moods in its music that fits the levels nicely.

    REPLAY VALUE:
Yeah, the levels are pretty repetitive but the ability to select your level is a nice addition so then you can go back to the level you died in or left off. I have never reached the end of the game but I am pretty postive there is one. I mean, he has gotta get to the top of the tower some time and that makes the game much more of a draw in.

    COMMENTS:
One of the first games of the short lived Virtual Boy but yet it is still one of the games I like to play the most out of any system. I have never beaten Mario Clash but that is one of the things that makes it much more enjoyable. The first 20 levels are fairly easy but once they start throwing at you some really hard enemies with other really hard enemies it gets difficult but it is all part of the fun. If you have a Virtual Boy I reconmend you pick up this game.
