Super Mario Bros. 3

INTRODUCTION:
Super Mario Bros. 3 was the last true Mario game released on the NES. Mario Bros. 3 changed the way Mario Bros was played, it not only brought back the style found in the original Super Mario Bros. it added more features to make it phenomenal. For the first time Mario has the ability to fly and he also gets other new powers such as the super cool Hammer Bros. Suit. It sold over 12 million copies and was published everywhere it could, McDonalds, a TV Show and a lot more.

FEATURES:

  • 1 or 2 players
  • 8 differant worlds
  • New items
  • CHARACTERS:

  • Mario (Player 1)
  • Luigi (Player 2)
  • Princess
  • Bowser
  • Koopa Kids
  • OVERALL GAMEPLAY:
This game is extremely easy to get used to once you sit down. The simplicity of the Nintendo controller along with following the same button paterns as the other Mario Bros before it make it easy to play without thinking really. With that each level has a new challenge to look forward to one level you will be jumping from platform to platform to avoid falling and in the next you could be running from a sun that swoops down from the sky. The addition of battle mode between Mario and Luigi is a very definate plus but may not be for everyone. Some people dont like the idea of losing turns so easily. The new items also make this Mario game stand out far more than others Hammer Bros. Suits, Frog Suits, Takooni Suits, P-Wings what more can you ask for?

    GRAPHICS:
For any NES game this has some of the best graphics. The characters has very distinguished features and the backgrounds have a lot of variety and color.

    SOUND:
This has one of the best soundtracks for any game ever made. Yeah the sound may sound worse than a midi but it is catchy and fits the game greatly.

    REPLAY VALUE:
Well after you run through it once or twice it can get boring but there is always something that draws you back. This game may be at least 10 years old but I would pick it up over some recent games anyday.

    COMMENTS:
This is one of my personal favorite games of all time. Even after 10 years there is still something that draws you back into it. I reconmend this game to anyone and everyone, if you don't have a NES it is on Mario All Stars for the SNES and it is slated for release on the GameBoy Advance as well.
