Alleyway

INTRODUCTION:
A very simplistic game being one of the first GameBoy games. You get to play as Mario (you only see him when you start or die) and you are in a capsle. Your goal: Break all of the blocks,

FEATURES:

  • 1 Player
  • Ton of levels each with varying difficulties and obsticles.
  • CHARACTERS:

  • Mario (In capsule)

    OVERALL GAMEPLAY:
An extremely easy game to figure out, Just keep the ball from hitting the ground. The challenge though is when your capsle shrinks or blocks start coming down at you. It may not be a a very complex game but it is the lack of complexity that makes the game very enjoyable. Each block of 3 levels have a theme to the shape of blocks. The first of the three has no real obsticle, the second contains moving blocks and the third if you aren't quick the blocks will drop down and smash you. After you completed the set of three you get a bonus round. Each bonus level containts characters from Super Mario Bros. rendered in the little blocks you have to break.

    GRAPHICS:
Well you can get very complex with a ball and blocks you have to break, luckily though gameplay makes up for the lack of graphics. The Mario Bros characters in the bonus rounds are really neat to see all made up out of the blocks.

    SOUND:
The intro music is jumpy and gets you excited about the game. Unfortunately though, once you start playing all you hear is a noise bounce and the noises blocks make when you hit them. Sounds wise this game has little if nothing to offer.

    REPLAY VALUE:
This game has a good replay value. It may not have the best graphics or the best sound but its simplicity is what brings gamers back to this classic game.

    COMMENTS:
One of the first GameBoy games and its very easy to tell. The graphics aren't all that great and nither is the sound but it doesnt take away from the game. The game itself is a simple game it takes no time to figure it out, that is what makes this a great game.
