Agent Under Fire
INTRODUCTION:
Bond. James Bond. It's a line that's internationally famous. The notorious
hero has appeared in dozens of movies and videogames, and is back for more
action on the PS2 and NGC. EA brings us the new excitement packed with a
single-player mode, four-person split-screen multiplayer action, and a
third-person racing mode. The game was originally made for the PS2 and is
being ported to Nintendo, but along the way the GameCube version has picked
up a few enhancements.
FEATURES:
the first appearance of James Bond on GCN, along with all of the usual
gunfights, explosions, and attractive women surround him.
A completely original first-person story, filled with new and familiar
villains and allies.
Three different ways to play: action, stealth and driving modes.
A full arsenal of Q-lab weapons, gadgets and autos to blow up everything
from buildings to soda cans.
Based on the action-packed adventures of James Bond, so you know it will be
good.
3-D environments only possible through the ease and speed of GCN
programming.
Single and multiplayer (up to 4 people) action.
Features artificial intelligence bots.
STORY SO FAR:
Agent 007 is on the tail of the crime-lord Malprave, the leader of an evil
terrorist organization that has come into power and seeks to rule the world.
The group is aided in their quest with the technology to clone humans, which
of course is being used to clone evil followers for their evil plans. Lots
of evil, eh? Luckily, Bond is helped by his partner (in crime fighting and
other things, I'm sure), the beautiful Zoe Nightshade, and a handful of new
and familiar faces.
GAMEPLAY:
Bond travels through 10 various locations, sneaking around, blowing things
up, the usual activities. Naturally the game is in first-person view, much
like that of Quake and GoldenEye. Bond has quite an arsenal hidden in his
pocket, using a healthy selection of guns and gadgets. Game play is well
defined by EA's impressive engine, keeping the action well-paced and never
lagging. After a few hours of shooting enemies in the head and crawling
around in air shafts, avid gamers can race James's car in a third-person
style, satisfying everyone whether they prefer action or racing.
Naturally there is a four-person split-screen multiplayer mode for those of
us who can't get enough of shootouts with out friends. Here the GameCube
version of "Action Under Fire" will have a major improvement over the PS2
version-the addition of the new computer enemy AI Bots. EA promises that
these little buggers will be intelligent enough to give even the best
players a run for their money.
More on this game when we can get our greedy hands on a more complete
version of "Agent Under Fire"! Stay tuned!
